I once was lost, but now I’m found

Founde print on lime green fabric

A brand new design based on Luke 15. “Was lost – Am found”.

In Luke 15 Jesus tells three parables about finding what was lost. Verses 4-7 is the shepherds who leaves the 99 sheep to go find the one he lost. When he finds it he exclames; “Rejoice with me, for I have found my sheep which was lost!”

8-10 is the woman who carefully cleans her whole house to find the coin she lost. When she finds it she calls all her friends and neighbours to tell them.

Luke 15:11-32 is the parable of the prodigal son, who took out his inheritance and left his father to live his life as he wanted. He returned to his father after all the money was gone and he was living a rough life, just to be welcomed with open arms and a feast. His father had eagerly waited for him to return one day. In verse 32 the father says to his other son (who was jealous of the royal treatment his brother received): “It was fitting to celebrate and be glad, for this your brother was dead, and is alive; he was lost, and is found,” (ESV)

Luke 15:10 says that there is joy in heaven for every sinner that repents.

The first verse of the song Amazing Grace, by John Newton (1725-1807), reads:

Amazing grace, how sweet the sound
That saved a wretch like me
I once was lost, but now I’m found
Was blind, but now I see
